Inserimento ed esclusione dei forestieri negli statuti delle corporazioni bolognesi (secoli XIII-XV)

Abstract

The arrival of foreign workers had significant impact on the demography and the economy in Bologna between XIII and XV centuries. Based on a large collection of corporate statutes, the paper intends to analyse how foreigners artisans interacted with guilds: following the path that starts from a policy of initial openness up to progressive closure of matriculas and a tightening of the productive rules against forenses, have been studied the relationship between immigrant and native labor, competition, apprenticeship, rules of production and the role of non-native inside these craft organizations.
