Abstract

King Enzo’s of Sardinia, son of the Emperor Frederick II Hohenstaufen, is one of the fewest distinguished burials not yet investigated with modern tools. It is placed inside San Domenico Church in Bologna since 1272. This paper firstly aims to analyze its history in terms of movements and content. Then, results from the analysis of the available chronicles and documents, allow to connect the 13th century sources now probably lost to later descriptions and therefore to objects and finds already known from other burials recently studied.
